I am stumped to say the least. I am no Exchange guru by any means, so the issue is even worse.
My setup is as follows:
One single server that acts as both the domain controller and exchange 2003 box. We have no issues internally or externally accessing email (internal it’s via the Exchange in Outlook 07, external it’s via POP access in OL2007), however we are implementing Blackberry’s for our directors, and POP access won’t work to their specifications.
Hence us setting up RPC over HTTP.
I will get this out of the way: RPC over HTTP is installed properly, and I followed the guide here:
http://www.petri.co.il/configure_rpc_over_https_on_a_single_server.htm
To the T.
We have no SSL cert, and were “hoping” to use the built-in cert with Server 03 (standard edition w/ SP2).
RPC over HTTP works internally, but not externally. I input the correct settings per another guide on that site, but it never connects to the Exchange box.
Our firewall is a SonicWALL Tz170, and I believe we’ve opened all the ports correctly, but I’ve had several issues with this device and opening ports–it just never seems to work correctly.
For your assistance, to get to our webmail we have to type in: http://www.domain.org/exchange
Shouldn’t we be able to type in: mail.domain.org, and it work? If we type that in, it takes us to our homepage, instead of prompting for user & pw. I feel this may be some part of the issue.
If anyone can offer any assistance, I’d greatly appreciate it… Again, I’m a newb at this, so dumb down your instructions, if you can. 🙁
