Extra spaces in add/remove programs

In Windows XP Pro...when going to add/remove programs within XP - there are several "extra spaces" between several programs. How can these be removed? How did they get there?

Assuming that you have scanned for viruses and malware and found none, this would sound like a flakey MMC.

I would do an in-place repair of Windows and see if that issue is resolved.

Spyware and malware removal was the first thing completed, I also did a repair of Windows and this did not resolve. I seen a comment somewhere about AutoCad can cause this? Does this ring a bell?

similar post in XP forum.
do you have Autocad 2000i as the last entry and then a huge gap to the bottom where your other apps are? autodesk has a patch for this if that is the case

Yes, the last entry is AutoCad and a major gap with a listing of 3 or 4 more apps then even more spacing. I'm not able to locate any information (patch or fix) on AutoDesk for this problem....
