First of all, completely uninstall the printer. Next, download and install the latest 1300 drivers for Win98 from HP's site.

If this does not resolve the issue check your core OS files by running SFC from the Run command off the Start menu.

If this does not work can you post a comment with details of the BSOD error you are getting?

Good luck

I downloaded the drivers and istall them however when i try to install the printer at the final stage its asking for the win98 se CD.I insert the CD then it gives me this message.

"the file unidrv.dll on win98 se cd rom cannot be found.

When asked for Win98 CD, ensure that install is pointed to d:\win98 where d = drive letter for CD Drive. Defaults can be reset and location of Win98 cab files may be incorrect.

Do a search on your computer/cd drive for the file unidrv.dll. Many times these "missing" files are in your system32 directory. At any rate, once you locate the file, do the install again and when asked for the file point to it's location.
