FAULTY USB KEYBOARD

by jrgeek . Updated 17 years, 10 months ago

DURING PS SURFING MY USERS KEYBOARD WOULD INPUT STRANGE CHARACTERS. Restarted pc (Win XP Pro) but could not type characters into the Username & Password fields to logon. Hence the following behaviors; 1)can ctr+alt+delete once for the logon window 2)tried different usb ports, 3)the usb mouse and other usb devices work 4)backspace button inserts little square boxes from right to left 5)can only use tab while in the bios 6) no other keys work except those mentioned above 7)unable to logon to any of the F12 start menu options like last good config etc. 8)its on a domain 9) cain’t login locally either 10)no arrows 11) numlock is fine
So what is up with this. Haven’t tried wireless usb yet. I have a suspicion that this could be infected with malware or virus.
