Favorite Cisco emulation software

By aborders ·
I am looking for some Cisco emulation software for personal training. It would also be good if it can emulate multiple devices (routers, Firewall, Switches) for testing complex network setups.

I'm looking for suggestions on products you have used and liked. I also would like to know what programs you used that were garbage so I can avoid them.

Thanks.

Adam

Router Emulator

by twgcfwd In reply to Favorite Cisco emulation ...

Google-> Dynamips / Dynagen... this is a free opensource set of apps that simulate cisco hardware on a windows machine.(processor intense...need a somewhat kickin' machine.)
Here is the catch, you have to have your own copy of a Cisco IOS for the app to load from. I have run as many as four "virtual" routers simulateously with the the FULL command set that is in the IOS loaded. Read help files thoroughly as this is not for the casual tinkerer... setup is a little tricky but the payoff is great! This is no DEMO, you have full routing capability.

Hello,

you could try Amuware.com at www.amuware.com, it's GUI for Cisco dynamips and PIX Pemu emulators. ASA will be in next version too.
