Faxing from Windows etc....

By Foz ·
My company wishes to fax directly from OFFICE applications eg prepare a letter in WORD then FAX it from the application across the LAN. We have a few spare ISDN lines we can use or PSTN lines. Does snyone know the easiest way of doing this? Were running NT Workstation and Server 4.0, Thanks!

Basically, you need fax software of some kind. If you want to have just one fax modem(ISDN modems won't work), there are many, many fax server products that work with NT. See http://www.slipstick.com/addins/services/groupfax.htm for those that have specific integration with Microsoft Outlook.

My company uses FastFax by Quadrant software that runs in part with a IBM AS/400 and NT Server. We can receive and send faxes right from the users PC. Send from applications and receive them from email.

Very cool, very little maintenance, but very costly. We have 6000+ employees, only which 300 use this (currently) but at this rate, that will increase.

Hope this helps!
