fdisk problems

i have a problems. i formatted my HDD few hours ago. then i run fdisk to make the partition becomes 3 rather than i like before. i have done all the stages, but i made a silly human error. i forgot to set the active partition. after i exit the fdisk, i realize that i haven’t set the active partition, so i want to go to fdisk once again. but then i got error message saying that no fixed drive present. i don’t know what to do since i am a computer literate. can someone help me?
