a back to top link.
most of the hot discussions are so long that by the time you finish scrolling to make sure you have seen all the posts you have to scroll all the way back to the top to be able to get anywhere else on the site.

so either a back to top link in the posting list or else fix the navigation so it doesn’t scroll off the screen.
