We are looking at installing new backbone connections between all of our data closets. We currently have Cat 5 wiring. With the current system we have one main closet / data room that 5 other closets feed into. So 5 seperate connections into our main switch in the main closet / data room. Now when we install fiber we will have 5 seperate fiber connections coming into the main data room, what do I need to connect all of these fiber connections? Do I get 1 switch that will takeall of the connections? Or is there a splitter that connects all of the connections and then brings one connection into a switch etc….. I am not quite up on fiber connectivity. If some one can help it would be appericated.
