File and Folder Permissions!

Greetings!

I am trying to migrate all of our organizations files from a Redhat server to a 2K servers external (usb2.0) on NTFS.

The dillema is that the OS for the 2k svr is running on a single HD and we are getting 3 more identical SCSI drives to use Raid 5 which means in time, this server will be re-OS’ed.

If i setup files and folders on this external USB drive with appropriate permission, would these permission be carried over when this usb drive is reattached to the newly OS’ed 2ksvr?
