I have a file and print server that is unable to publish 2 different printers ‘in the directory’. The check box has been checked, and when I go back into the properties of the printer the check box is STILL checked. This is what makes this problem unique from the common group policy issue I’ve seen from other people. I have even tried manually over-riding the group policy objects in regard to printer publishing in active directory to no avail. The printer drivers and network shares are working normally as I can manually map the network shares and print from remote machines. As means of testing whether the problem is the DC or the FP server I have attached some other printer to a local machine and shared it in the directory successfully. This is obviously an issue with our Storage Server 2003.
file and print server is running Windows Storage Server 2003 x32 SP2
domain controller is running Windows Server 2003 Standard x64 SP2
