File association

By kbwoynATL ·
Is there a way that a .PCL file can be associated with a print function that will allow the file to sent to a Windows default printer? I am currently utilizing a DOS batch that redirects any .PCL file to a parallel port.

I' not sure if this is what you mean, but windows will give you your choice of file associations when you clikc on the file itself. A Pop-up should appear asking you what program you want to use to open the file. Select a program like Wordpad and check "Always associate this program with this file." From then on, that type of file will always be associated with Wordpad and can be printed with a default Windows printer.

If there is already a program association, then right-clikck on the file and select "open with"... the use the same operation. Let us know if this helps!
