Click once on the file you are trying to open then hold down the left shift key and right click on the file. In the dialog box that opens there should be a "open with" selection. Click it and check with allways open with this program and go down the list and click on adobe to open. This should reassociate the pdfs with the correct program.

The long way around,

Open My Computer or Windows Explorer

From the top menu bar, choose TOOLS>FOLDER OPTIONS and select the files types tab.

Scroll down the list and highlight PDF then click the EDIT button, choose the program to open PDF's with and then OK out.

The above steps wil work also, yet if you have Indernet Desktop enabled (Single click) it is a little trickier.

Acroreader if not removed prior to installing Acroreader 5 will cause these types of problems also.
If you still have Acroreader 3 somewhere even partially on your computer you will have to totally remove all evidence of all Acrobat Readers. See Adobe's site for directions.
