file extension for address book in outlo

By rchoppala ·
I have a computer that is having registry issues. What I want to do is save the end-users address book entries in outlook express to a floppy disk. Unfortunately I am not certain as to the correct file extension for the entries. I am doing a file copy through DOS.

It's *.WAB.

Another possibility is to do File-> Export, and export them to a CSV (comma-separated value) file, then when you're done, import them.

Greetings,

UserName.WAB

You may also want to consider saving the inbox, outbox, etc. (.IDX .MBX).

Be advised, however, if the address book is too large it may not fit on a floppy disk without condensing the file (zipping). Some of my users have address books well over 1.5 MB.
