I am running NT 4.0 w/SP 6.0a. My users are attached locally on Ethernet 100, & they’re running Excel & Word 97 Small Business Ed. with SP2. Their files are saved on the NT server. Several times a week file their files will stay locked open on the server, even though they have saved, closed the app. & rebooted. I have to goto the server manager and close the resource to unlock their files. The parent directory has share level access & their individual dir.’s have NTFS permissions. What is thereto do to fix their files from being locked open?
