File Management

By kiranchinnu ·
hi all ,
I need a software to copy, move and delete files from our file server on date basis.

I tired robocopy however copy works fine but move and delete doesnt work when tested.

Hence searching for cheap software which might do this.

Thanks in advance.

Try Norton File Manager

by wwgorman In reply to File Management

This is a Windows 95 program that still works in Windows Vista (you may get a meaningless error message). However this File Manager is one of the best ever published. Too bad Symantec decided to remove it from the market. I install it from the original disk but it means sorting out the various DLL files required---not a big deal.

Since robocopy has that option, can you describe why it did not work for you when testing?

How about posting your script?

I tried:
robocopy d:\test \\srvr\shr\dir *.* /E /MOVE /MINAGE:20100701
and it seems to work ok.
