file path problem w/different computers

By wwwilsoncom ·
A while back the references in our Access datbase was not recognized the same by all computers using it. If the reference to a file was set in my computer it would not be recognized by the other computers using the database. If you reset the reference with one of the other computers all of them except mine would recognize the path.

The path was set exactly the same as before.
The files were located in the same place on all computers.

I copied and pasted the paths into a word doc and compared them. They were exactly the same character by character.

I made a temp fix by copying the files to a common network path and reset the reference, this fixed the problem.

Why would the other computers not recognize the path set on my computer?

IT says I changed something. This would be kind of hard since I do not have administrative rights.

It could be a rights issue.

Some database, say payrol ADP has a multi user and a single user mode. When a multi user user access it, everyone can. If a single user access it, everyone else cant. Check your settings.
