File Server Resource Manager (FSRM) will not start

by eugene.schuman . Updated 18 years, 2 months ago

I am unable to install the file server role on a Windows Server 2003 R2.

The installation appears to go fine. I am prompted for both disk 1 and 2
and then the server reboots. While rebooting a service fails to start.
Below is the error message I get.

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Service Control Manager
Event Category: None
Event ID: 7023
Date: 1/15/2007
Time: 2:06:38 PM
User: N/A
Computer: STI-DNS-SRV01
Description:
The File Server Resource Manager service terminated with the following
error:
File Server Resource Manager is not a valid Win32 application.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no change. The configure
your server log shows the installation as successful.

This server is also configured with the Domain Controller (Active Directory)
Role and the DNS Server Role. Both are working properly.

Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

Thanks
GS
