File Sharing -- C$

By tshaffer ·
I have 50 computers on a network. All computers have same password for
username (administrator). I have file sharing activated. My problem is -
each time I type \\computername\c$, I am able to access the C drive without
prompting for the username and password. How can this be prevented? How
can I have the computer prompt for the username and password for access?

Thanks,

If on every PC you have an account, yourname/password that has admin rights and your connecting to the C$ share then it will never prompt you for a password. The system you attaching to is prompting your PC for the username and password you are logged in with.
If it matches a defined admin account on the PC then you in.
