File sharing doesn't respond

By jwilliams ·
I have XP, and file sharing is on. However, I can't share any files or folders. When I right click on the file/folder that I want to share, then go to sharing and security or properties, it doesn't do anything. Even when I open the folder and then click "share this folder" it still doesn't respond. It did work in the past, but not now.

Dear collegue.
Please, start from "Folder Options" in your explorer.
Select tab "View".
Then uncheck the "Use simple file sharing" from Advanced settings.
After it you can share your folders with permission for users of your net.
