File sharing without a network
I have two computers and would like to enable file sharing between them. I am consulting for a doctor office and they would like to go this route before investing the big bucks for a network. At this point, they already were told to purchase a parallel port. So, they have the parallel port, one Compaq, and one ebusiness machine. They would like some of the programs to be shared, and I explained b/c it is only file sharing and not a network, two people will not be able to work in the same program at the same time. This is ok with them for now.
After all of these details, my question for you is what steps should I take to use the parallel port and make sure the files are sharing properly? I have worked with networks and hubs, but not with a parallel port. And perhaps they need more hardware? I am not sure.
Any and all advice is appreciated.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Best Regards,
Heather
