    by jkal ·

I have tried everything. The FCC search, anything I could think of but I can not find anything on a OptoRite CD-RW MO.# CW 1601. Ever heard of this brand? I thought I read the oaktech made it but still could not find any help. Please answer this oneThanks

      What driver do you need?
If this is an internal drive, and you are running Windows 9X, Windows should take care of all driver requirements.

Make sure that you have up to date drivers for your MB / Chipset installed. Not having the IDE Buss-master driver installed is a common problem when a CD drive is not recognized.

In order to record data onto Cd-R or RW, you need a CD burning software package.

If you need a DOS driver in order to install your OS, or run DOS games, try CDGOD. I believe you can get it and other general purpose CD drivers from http://www.driverguide.com

OptoRite is made by a company called CyberDrive. Check out this link for a DOS driver that may work for you.http://www.cyberdriveusa.com/tech_issues.asp?ID=1 Close up any spaces in the URL after you paste it.
