OK, I have a single firewire connection slot in the front of my
new case, I have 2 IEEE 1394A connections on my my MB (ECS
L4S5MG). I also have as luck would have it in my parts drawer
single firewire IO with 9 pin connection, IEEE 1394 is stamped on
the cable. Unnexpected bonus except that th pin assignment is
reversed. I have done a bunch of research and can’t come up
with any fire wire revisions that included a pin reversal, anyone
know whats going on? Is this possibly a proprietary cable? Mac?
Can I rewire the connection assuming it is an exact reversal?
Well I doubt I’ll get much response on this as the problem could
be resolved for 20 dollars, I’m just cheap, and I don’t like it when
pins mess with me.
