You can pay someone to do it, but we do it ourselves. We hit the firewall with Nessus and ISS Security Scanner and see if it has any vulnerabilities. I also use nmap on it to see what ports are open on the firewall and to check to see if the firewall rules are being enforced. If you have Checkpoint the following article is useful http://www.net-security.org/text/articles/spitzner/auditing.shtmlFor firewalls in general see http://www.auditnet.org/docs/firewall%20audit%20program.txt

There is a web site that offers a free fire wall and security test tool.

If you have some money to spend, you can get the Webtrends Firewall Suite, which audits most firewall brands available. It makes very nice HTML reports, complete with all kinds of bar graphs in pretty colours! Management-types love these reports!

Hi Iqbal,

First of all, Sorry for the misunderstanding last time. I also appreciate your response for the same. I couldn't say this before and was waiting for another question of yours so that I can say this ;-)
Feel free to reject anything, but just add a note, that is it :-)

For this question, you should get whatever you need here:

http://www.rootprompt.org/article.php3?article=323

www.firemon.com/Product-Reveiw.pdf (this is CP specific)

http://www.net-security.org/text/articles/spitzner/auditing.shtml (A good source of info)

Thanks,
