firewall ip routing issues

By Shanghai Sam ·
i got leased line with 16 valid ip`s e.g.
xxx.xxx.xxx.1xx to xxx.xxx.xxx.116.
connection as follows.
1. leased line is connected to cisco router(1720)
with one valid ip.
2. From router to system which is having two nic
cards with one card has valid ip and another
card has local ip. The system is having NT
with check point firewall.
3. The connection from firewall system is to
intel switches, from there it is connected to
all clients and one NTserver which is a
database server. And it will assinged as DHCP
server for all the clients.
4. clients will be accesing internet through
DHCP.
5. Now we are configured mail server with
Exchange 2000 with one valid ip.
6. When i connect the system in the switches the
ip is not resolving(pinging) from outside.
That is from isp or from outside campus.
BUT when i connect as follows ip of mailserver
resolves.
i introduce a switch before router, mailserver
is connected in this switch.

BUT i want everything should goes through firewall.
if anybody wants diagram of this setup i will
send through mail.

firewall ip routing issues

by rpalanisamy In reply to firewall ip routing issue ...

I think you may have to assign a public IP for your 2nd NIC on your firewall machine and configure your firewall/machine to route to your mail server. Then use your 2nd NIC IP address as a gateway for your mail server.

I hope this will solve yourproblem.
