By butchkn ·

on my test server. I have installed the

do I connect to the sample datbases
(Northwind) from my client?
Using SQL commands I can query the database
from the server so I know the SQL server is
running but how do I confrim that I can
coonect to a database?

Try using SQL Query Analyzer. You can also use the ODBC driver to test connectivity or access the data from MS Office apps.

Hope this helps.

if you install the sql 7 client utils on the client pc, ie query analyzer and enterprise mgr, you can connect that way.

if not, use Access and ODBC to connect
