I have an HP dv4000 I am using but plan on getting my new HP dv5t in less than a month. I’ve almost always used a USB mouse with it and am now making it into an actual portable computer again because I plan to replace the battery (and upgrade the RAM too). The trackpad I can no longer get to work and XP Pro doesn’t recognize it. The computer’s 3.5 years old, the trackpad looks worn, but it really hasn’t been used much at all for it to look and work like it is now. Any ideas?
