Flash on a unix server

By nsontag ·
So we have been just finishing up a site that makes some use of flash objects. The thing works fine using when hosted on a computer running apache, but when I tried to upload it to our Main Unix based server, suddenly none of the flash is showing up.

any ideas?

Configuration problem

Here's a wild guess: Incorrect MIME type assigned by the server.

Was it developed on Unix?

by stress junkie In reply to Flash on a unix server

You know that Adobe hasn't created a version 8 of Flash for Unix. They only have version 7. So if you developed this software on a machine running Apache and Windows you may have created something that requires Flash version 8.

Figured it out

Turns out it was a problem with code. It had to do with the javascript workaround Adobe's Dreamweaver put into the pages so MS explorer would run active content automatically. All I had to do was get rid of some "noscript" tags surrounding the embed tags.
