FLASHBIOS WILL NOT INSTALL

By bluelaz ·
I've downloaded the A06 driver from Dell to Desktop. When I double-click, the MS-Dos box appears for a second - then poof- gone.

Why is this happening?
How can I get this driver installed?

Boot the box is DOS mode.

Get a boot disk here:

http://www.bootdisk.com

Once you are at a command line, run the BIOS update.

What is your current bios version? If it's later than a06 then you cannot go back.

Something else to check is that you have the correct bios for your machine. There is a multitude of a06 bios' that you can download and you might have an incorrect version.

Cheers.

Go to the Dell site and look if they have a special bios flash program which runs under windows, so you don't need a floppy and don't have to boot into DOS first. Dell usually have this possibility.
