HP Pavilion 6630 Celeron computer. Everything works fine except the floppy drive. Software driver is up to date and ok. I changed the floppy drive for a new one, it did not work. I replaced the old one and unplugged ALL the cables on the motherboard, then plugged them back in, it worked fine. The problem has recurred and reseating the cables does not fix. I tried a new cable, doesn’t work. The only solution is a broken ide connector on the motherboard, or a faulty circuit trace on the motherboard itself. Am I right? Do I have to replace the motherboard?
