Floppy Drive & Scanner

When i shutdowm Windows Xp my floppy drive green light comes on as if it is coming on.

When i open windows my floppy drive green light comes on as if it is looking for a disk and my scanner comes on as if it is staring to scan.

Can anyone tell me how to stop these.
