Looked through all 711 questions to see if someone experienced this. Wish titles were a little more specific, could save time.
Tried to remove game on kid’s computer. Was in DOS and thought I was in the game dir. Was in c:\ and did a del *.*. Then panicked!
Did not want to ever shut off the computer again. Grabbed the boot disk and brought back in all system files. I’m thinking command.com may be the culprit but not sure what to do about it. Saw that WIN98 SE did not need config.sys soremoved it.
Windows always starts now with error reading drive A: abort retry fail. Hit abort and win comes up, but something is almost constantly accessing the A: drive. NO it is NOT a virus or findfast problem, have neither installed.
