A successful musical transition from the early/mid 70s to the late 70s required a balance between maintaining R&R roots and playing to the Disco craze. This song overcame the typical disco sterotype and it survived as a true R&R classic, even though it was a huge “disco” hit (complete with the disco beat, disco balls, and everything).
