Folder as 'Private' in Win XP on vol D?

By vikrantv ·
I have Windows XP on my PC. There are two volumes C and D. The default folder in My Documents on volume C for a user can be made Private or Public.

But If I have to mark a folder as Private on volume D for a particular user, how to do it?

Please guide.

Thanks

Folder as 'Private' in Win XP on vol D?

For the most part the my docs folder is private for everyone. (Administrators ALWAYS have access).

Right click on the folder you wish to secure, and select properties. Select the security tab, and the rest is obvious... find the user you WANT to have control and give the appropriate permissions, and make sure that you remove everyone, and not set "everyone" to deny.

I tried your suggestion. But when I go to the seurity tab, the option to mark the folder as private is disabled (i.e. greyed). I am NOT able to make that folder on the volume D as private. Please help me. Thanks
