My folder display option in Windows Explorer will NOT stay as “Details”, but “eventually”, for no obvious reason, reverts to what I assume is the Windows XP Home default of “Icons”. I have tried all the combinations of resetting and setting and remember folder view settings, etc, but to no avail. What could have become corrupted?? Do you know of any applet that can be run like a macro to reset the folder view to details for all folders?? Is there a way to make “Details” the WinXP system default instead if “Icons”, or would that mess up the desktop display?? I have started to use a non-Microsoft file manager to get around this vs launching WinExplorer. But it is of no help with folders or even shortcuts to folders that I use a lot on my desktop and elsewhere.
