Folder & Files Green

I have two folders that the foldername and all the files inside are green insted of black. Why? Thanks

Well without knowing what folders they are it could be that they are protected OS or System files that are read only or something like that but without a bit more information about the folders themselves it is a bit hard to go any further.

But on a default Desktop if you have a compressed drive the contents appear blue instead of black but if the Defaults have been changed they could appear a different color or if the files are data folders they could be encrypted files.

Hi there

Files that are Green in XP would indicate that they are encryted. To check, right click on the file/folder, go to properties then advanced. You should then see a tick in the "encrypt files" box.
