Folder ownership

By Jeff Anderson ·
How to Give users creator owner rights to home drives after the folder has been created. I would like to do this as bulk not one at a time. Any ideas. When we moved their home drives to another server the creator owner rights changed to administrator. Our folder redirect/offline files is giving us fits because of this.

Here's a couple of leads. I enjoy scripting, and learned a little from this. Check out this MS page on WMI SetSecurityDescriptor Method. I was able to change the folder permissions. In the sample script change the wmiAce.AccessMask = 131072 number to 2032127 for full control for the owner.

Also check out this for setting the owner of the file.

When moving files use Robocopy this utility will also bring over the users perminision.
This utility is on the W2K Resource kit.
Assuming the directory structure is \\Server1\Users\Paul
Set Administrator (etc) permission on \\Server1\User
