Folder Password Protection

Hi
Any one can tell me is there any way to set a folder with password protection.
Folder is on the Shared Network drive with NTFS partition. I want to Dump my stuff there and protect it. I do not want user level permission to setup. i want to use any user login and click on my folder and it should prompt for password like the way file in word or excel prompts

This may not be as elegant a solution as you want but it will work.

Create a share and set standard NTFS permissions on the folder and grant only yourself or a group with just you as the member rights to the folder.

Then, from any workstation logged on as any user you can map a drive and specify your username and password. The syntax is:

net use m: \\server\share /user:username

You will then be prompted for the password.

Of course you will need to specify the exact server and share names as well as your user name.

As a second option you can create a share on your network drive. Login as yourself and create a subfolder that only you has full control of. If the server is Win2K on it you can use the Encrypting File System. Encrypt that folder and all of the items in it, by default, will be encrypted so that only you can access them.

The server must be setup using NTFS and must be Windows 2000 Server.

To encrypt the folder YOU must be the one encrypting it.

1. Right Click on the folder and click Properties
2. Click on the "Advanced" button
3. Click the option "Encrypt contents to secure data"
