font directory not defined

By david_grant ·
I am running Server 2003 and when I try to print from an application I get "windows font directory not defined" I am printing to a networked hp 4000 pc5e printer and have upgraded the drivers. I have another 2003 server that works fine when printing to a hp 5000 series printer. I have to be able to print to the 4000 printer. Please help.

Normally it is a result of your FONTs at the workstation not being defined as opposed to the server. In older Windows versions, not sure about newer or what OS you're using, they can be defined through the control panel but you didn't mention if this was across the entire network or just a specific PC on the network..

They should be in your Windows/System directory. But can be stored anywhere if the directory is moved and the path is changed in the registry.

You can try using a FONT manager and see if you can have it locate and redefine the font path.
A simple search for FONT MANAGER will give you some choices to try.
