I just finished building my Proliant DL380 G3 server running Win Serv 03 Sp2 at Win 2000 Native Mode function level. Now i am suppose to move the current ROOT Forest to this server. I have migrated Domains before but not Forest especially Root Forest. So I need to do this; what is to watch for? what is to be mindful off? would the Admt tool help? Do i have to decommision the current Root Domain to promote the new one? Pros and cons? Is there a suggested checklist for things to watch? Any help doing this will help. My current structure has One Root Forest and two child domains. the new host will host the Current migrated FOrest ROOT and its child domains, a new domain, and should be able for future upgrade. Last i am running Exchange 2003 rpc over http.
