formatting a blank dvd-rw disk

By john5021 ·
I have Nero6 and thought that I would be able to format any rw disk or dvd-rw disk I have. But it seems not to be so. I want to move several large files onto a dvd-rw disk and was going to use ACDsee to do so. this way I would reclaim HD space without deleting the copied files because deletimg doesn't give back all my space, like using ACDsee does. As it moves the entire file onto the rw or dvd-rw disk and thus the file is no longer on my HD. So, I need a program that will format my dvd-rw disks. If you could send info to me at, I would be grateful. let me know which programs are avalible for this and if I can download then at ZDnet. Thanks

I have only had to 'format' cd's/dvd's

by w2ktechman In reply to formatting a blank dvd-rw ...

that I got from Staples (Staples Brand) before.
You have Nero, open a DVD data disc and add files to the blank cd/DVD. Then press the Burn button.

Most cd/dvd disks do no need to be formatted if they were formatted at the factory. Most are formatted.
