formatting my hard drive

i have a dual boot system with win 98 and win xp pro. i have 4 partitions, c,d,e,f and g: as my cd rom drive and a: as my floppy drive. i have win 98 on c: and win xp on d: . i want to reformat my d:\ drive and resinstall win xp pro keeping my win 98 intact and also few of my data. i have a win xp pro installation cd. can u give me step wise procedure to perform the above actions? thank u.
