Fortran Compiler for Windows 7

by gtwatson77459 . Updated 16 years, 3 months ago

I have Compaq Visual Fortran 6.6 installed on my WinXP PC at work and have a few old Fortran programs I wrote years ago that I occasionally edit and re-compile. We are scheduled to upgrade to Windows 7 this summer and I ran the compatibility checker at MS which did not report that the CVF was incompatible, but it also did not say it was compatible. I have read elsewhere that CVF will not run on Win 7, but might work in the virtual machine of XP.
I think that Intel took over CVF and I guess I could upgrade but the price may not be worth it for the few times I need it. I do need to re-compile my couple of programs I still run so they will run on Win7.
My other question, is there a FTN compiler that will compile an EXE for Win7 like the GNU Fortran?
