Forwarding email to different domain

by shanghai sam . Updated 24 years, 6 months ago

I am running Exchange 5.5 on a 2000 Server w/AD. We merged w/another company and we are taking on the new companys domain. I want (ex. John Doe) jdoe@oldcompany.com email to be forwarded to our other location to john.doe@newcompany.org We are using different ISP’s. Also our other location is using the ISP’s email server and their email is sent to their location to a third party email software, then the internal users pull their email from that server. The user at the other location is using Outlook 2000. Now if I setup Outlook Express at the other location I can retrieve email from our server (jdoe@oldcompany.com) and from their internal third party email server. But if I setup though Outlook I now get a rejected password or username message. That just started when I updated from NT 4.0 to 2000. So basically I want users from both locations to recieve email from old domain and new domain. I would also like to in addition to hosting oldcompany.com to host newcompany.com on the same exchange server, and have users from this location and our other location to get mail. Without that rejected username or password message using outlook. Thanks
