Grisoft AVG is free for home

by Sue T In reply to http://free.grisoft.com/d ...

Grisoft AVG is free for home use. Since you have a server I figure there is a good chance this is not home use. Their version for business is very reasonably priced and comes with added features that you do not get with the free version.

ClamWin

by TheChas In reply to free antivirus

As stated, AVG and most of the other "free" anti-virus programs are for home use only.

Since they do not expect anyone to be using a server OS for a home system, the free versions may not even install on your system.

The best option for you would be ClamWin

http://www.clamwin.com/

This is a Windows port of a Linux open source AV program.

ClamWIn

by 1bn0 In reply to ClamWin

From the website

"Please note that ClamWin Free Antivirus does not include an on-access real-time scanner. You need to manually scan a file in order to detect a virus or spyware."

So you can scan your system periodically but it does not provide resident protection.
