Free internet Access...

By Mike (from Canada) ·
I have been searching and searching, and all I get are two free internet providers in Canada. One called Netzero and the other called Juno. Netzero only offers 10 hours of free internet access a month. Juno allows unlimited internet except that I cant go on at nights because so many people are using it. So I want to take a new direction and find an excellent free provider in Canada that gives unlimited hours and unlimited months of FREE ($0.00) internet access. If your solution gives me free internet access, then you get the points. I want to be able to access the internet in Hamilton Ontario Canada. and the area code is 905. and I dont want to pay.

Hi Mike,

Weren't you the one that wanted free telephone service as well? My Grandfather was always trying to get something for nothing and it usually ended up costing him more than if he went out and did some plain old fashioned comparison shopping! You can't get something for nothing unless you're living off the charity of others, but that can have a price, too, in the long run. What you should do instead of settling for the NetZero or Juno unreliable service that floods you with pop ups and banner ads and spam junk mail, is look for a reputable ISP like Earthlink, AT&T or something. Many ISP's will offer discounted service to the disabled, discounter service for limited usage and such. Good luck. Please post a comment with what ever you went with as it would be interesting to see if you could find what you're asking for. Go ahead and reject my answer because I didn't really give you what you wanted, but this is an interesting topic. The internet is no longer "free," and it sure seems like there are more New and Improved ways for making us poor working slobs pay more all the time!! Good luck and best wishes to you!

I agree with the other responders that the days of free unlimited access have passed.

There are several sites that list and rate ISPs. One is http://www.ispcheck.com/ you can search by price for your area.

I personally recomend using a small local based provider. My local provider charges $8.88 per month for 8 hours per day.

Alternately, the best deal that I am aware of is AT&T World net service through Sams Club. Sams members can get 100 hours per month for $4.99 a month.

I'm the guy who gave you the www.thelist.com a few weeks ago. My only suggestion is that you talk to some local companies and see if you can do a deal with them,ie, Exchange some computer consulting to them for access to the net though them.

goodluck.
