My pc gets stuck alot!
After i bought my pc and it was too late, i heard news that windows ME, has lots of problems like
1. freezing up
2. getting poped off the internet.
3. just an all around bad product.
is there anything that can be done to correct this?
and if not, can i trade my pc in for one that runs RIGHT?

Options:

Start by connecting to the internet, and installing the "critical" and security patches for Me from Windows Update.
(There should be a Windows Update button on your start menu. If not www.microsoft.com/windows)

Also, go to HP's web site, and download any updated drivers for your system.

If the system is now more stable, your all set.

Upgrade to Windows XP Pro.
Yes, it has it's own problems, but is much more stable than Me.

Down-grade to Windows 98SE.
This will require formatting the hard drive, and installing device drivers.
Depending on your level of expertise, you may want to hire someone to assist you.

The "trade-in" value of used computers is worthless.
Nothing depreciates faster than PCs.
That said, if you purchesed the PC from a local "independant" retailer, they may be very willing to work with you.
If you purchased the PC on-line, or from a large retailer, good luck.

If you have had the system for less than 3 months, you likely purchased aclearance model. Many stores do not take clearance items back unless they are defective. And then, they often have 14 day policies.

If you've had the PC for over 6 months, again, they won't take it back unless it is defective.

It is possiblethat you have a defective hard drive, CPU, or memory. It would be worthwhile talking to tech support, or taking the PC in for a check.
Make sure to detail very specifically the way(s) to make it lock up or crash.

Speaking of memory, how much doyou have?
I would recommend between 128MB and 384MB for Me.
