Hi all,
My PC has aquired a problem which i have had now for about 3 months. When the PC is started it will load perfectly normal and let me run most applications without due cause. If the PC is turned off or is needing a reboot it will not load straight away. Instead, the Windows XP boot up screen is displayed but is shown quite dark and the scroll bar does not move. If i leave the PC for 10 minutes the PC has a habit of loading without further problems. If another reboot is need this problem will happen again.
I have search all blogs on this site and others but the problems seem near mine but not the same.
What i have tried this far…
Checking and Changing the BIOs does not seem to do anything for the PC.
The graphics card has been checked but my motherboard does not have an onboard video port.
Can’t understand why this is happening. The hard drive is currently formated, scandisked and no problems shown. It seems to be a DOS related issue as far as i believe as nothing in any log for XP mentions this or possibly a file problem but a fresh install of XP and Win 98 but came back the same.
My Stats;
AsRock 775-CrossFire
Pentium D 830 – 3.0ghz Dual Core
2gb DDR2 RAM
Nvidia GeForce 7100GS 256Mb RAM
5.1 Creative Sound Card
550w PSU
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
