Hi, this may sound odd, but I need to install my XP home edition on a Dell XPS 710.
The Dell comes with XP Media Edition 2005 pre-installed but it’s the Japanese version, My XP Home is the English Version and that’s why I want to switch them.
The XP I have is old, pre service pack 2 and I’ve done a little reading that this can cause difficulties with a SATA HDD (in the Dell).
What issues will I need to be aware of, and what steps should I take before attempting to do a clean install of XP?
I know the question is vague, but I would really appreciate any advice or links to advice, this is new territory for me1
