Front Page 2000 Poblem

By cdurfee ·
I've been making a real basic website that I don't have hosted yet. One problem I've encountered is on a memeber page I've created I can't get rid of a sentence.

First, if you are only creating a form that will be printed, and not sent to you via e-mail, or to a special file on you system, then you DO NOT need to create the form on a "Results Page" in the first place. Create it on a standard html page without use of the extensions.

Forms created on the results page will require that the ISP who hosts youe site must have the FrontPage server extensions installed on his servers. Likewise, if you have not installed the extensions on your own site, (Via the MMC module) in IIS 4.0 then you can not get rid of the error message. Also, when using results pages, they will not work properly when viewed by people on the web, unless you have posted them via the "Publish WEb" command in the frontpage file menu.

FrntPage documentation from Microsoft stinks. You only learn how to use it by trial and error.

Hopes this helps

Also, I should add that you also need to "Index" your site directory using "Index Server", which is part of IIS 4.0 all from the option pak.

HI,
I think you are going to send all this details entered by the user through email..right??? Then the two possible reasons for appearing "[FrontPage Save Results Component]" are
1.Your Web Server is not configured with FrontPage Server Extensions for email.
2.The information for the mail server in the Frontpg.ini file is incorrect.

For more detailed info go to this....

Hope this helps you.
GOOD LUCK...:)
